Paul McCartney Thankful for Repaired Friendship Before John Lennon’s Death

Remembering John Lennon today .. as well as Yoko, Sean and Julian ❤

TIME

Paul McCartney says his bitter rift with Beatles bandmate John Lennon may have drawn headlines, but their real story at the end was one of forgiveness, as the two put aside differences to bond over fatherhood and “bread-making recipes.”

On Saturday’s episode of The Jonathan Ross Show, McCartney told the host that he’s thankful the musical legends had reconnected before Lennon was tragically shot to death in 1980 at age 40.

“The story about the break-up, it’s true but it’s not the main bit, the main bit was the affection,” the musician, 72, lovingly recalled days before the Monday anniversary of Lennon’s murder outside the famed Dakota apartment buildingin Manhattan.

“I’m so glad because it would have been the worst thing in the world to have this great relationship that then soured and he gets killed, so there was some solace in the fact that we got back…

Gate A-4

A beautiful story ..

Live & Learn

Gate A-4 By Naomi Shihab Nye:

Wandering around the Albuquerque Airport Terminal, after learning my flight had been delayed four hours, I heard an announcement: “If anyone in the vicinity of Gate A-4 understands any Arabic, please come to the gate immediately.” Well— one pauses these days. Gate A-4 was my own gate. I went there.

An older woman in full traditional Palestinian embroidered dress, just like my grandma wore, was crumpled to the floor, wailing. “Help,” said the flight agent. “Talk to her . What is her problem? We told her the flight was going to be late and she did this.”

I stooped to put my arm around the woman and spoke haltingly. “Shu-dow-a, shu-bid-uck, habibti? Stani schway, min fadlick, shu-bit-se-wee?” The minute she heard any words she knew, however poorly used, she stopped crying. She thought the flight had been cancelled entirely. She needed to be…

Serene Reflection

image

The requests for guidance with managing waves of emotions and sometimes inexplicable overwhelm have been rising in recent times.  Energetically sensitive people feel affected by the collective energies and with all the calamities and changes in the collective and at individual levels, there is often turbulence in the air.  I have been sharing these tips in private and decided to share them here for the benefit of those who are looking for this material.

I understand that some of this may make no sense to a large amount of the population and may also provoke my Advaita – inclined friends to remind me of the value of ‘not doing’ and being.  I hold argument with neither and will not be responding to any comments along this line.  I believe the most pragmatic thing possible is to be honest about where you are located on your spiritual journey.  So if you…

Are You An Earth Sensitive? and Why You Need to Know

Wonderful read .. ❤

Serene Reflection

6 Elements - Earth Healing Mandala - woven by Sangeeta Bhagwat

It takes only about 5 minutes of news to make the most resilient of us feel exhausted and dismayed.  Current world events, weather disruptions and mishaps seem to be growing in frequency and scale.  While some articles describing the traits of Empaths and Highly Sensitive Personshave been doing the rounds, there is relatively less information available for Earth Sensitives.  For them, the current times can be overwhelming.  Even more so, if you do not even realize what is happening with you and why.

To me, labels have their limitations and I use all these terms more as pointers rather  than rigorous classifications.  My intent here is to provide some practical, useful  checklists for those who may have been seeking such support. I myself fit the descriptions of an Empath, HSP as well as an Earth Sensitive.

Previously, I have shared several Tools For Empaths.  I strongly recommend referring to that…

You are Oceanic by Tapiwa Mugabe

Beautiful .. (( ❤ ))

tumblr_mu5274dnJu1qb5t88o1_500

All she wanted was to find a place to stretch her bones.

A place to lengthen her smiles

and spread her hair

a place where her legs could walk without cutting and bruising

a place unchained.

She was born out of ocean breath.

I reminded her;  ‘Stop pouring so much of yourself into hearts that have no room for themselves

do not thin yourself, be vast.

You do not bring the ocean to a river.’

Sourdough Grissini

Love sourdough? Here’s your chance to try out an easy starter recipe! 🙂

Little House Bliss

Sourdough GrissiniBet you’ll never guess whatI’ve been baking up lately.  Because it’s definitely not a sourdough recipe – I mean, it’s not like I love baking with sourdough starter or anything.  Um…just kidding?

It has been a long time since I’ve had grissini – this crunchy, crackery version of breadsticks.  I used to buy them, and their mini-bagel shaped cousins, Taralli, when I studied in Italy.  Back in the US, I forgot all about them until a couple of weeks ago when I absent-mindedly left some pizza reheating in the oven for a bit too long.  The too-crunchy crust tasted exactly like grissini and I knew I needed to learn how to make them. And because I like a challenge, I figured I might as well make a sourdough version!

These aren’t a snack that you can make on a whim – you’ll need to plan ahead because the dough rises overnight.  It is…

Bright Ocean of beautiful bold color .. this made my day ❤

Abstract Art by Sharon Cummings

TrueColors

Don’t be afraid.  It’s only color.  I have to smile really big whenever I sell one of my bold mega colorful paintings.  It lets me know that someone out there has the assertiveness to go with a piece that yells from the walls, “Look at me!!!”  It is even more satisfying when it is an abstract.  Abstracts make most people uncomfortable.  Some will say that they just do not understand abstract art.  There is good news!  You do not have to.  You just have to like it and have the courage to allow yourself to enjoy it.  I do not understand how an opal is formed, but I know it’s beautiful.  I do not understand how a beetle has such iridescence in it’s shell, but I know it is stunning.  I do not understand how the human eye has all of those amazing patterns, but enjoy looking at them.  A…
